End Tables Do Not Have to Match

by guestpost on January 25, 2010

For most people, end tables are a set of identical twins, flanking the sofa on either side. For a little bit of visual appeal and a change of pace, the two end tables do not have to match exactly as long as there are details that tie them together. For instance, they should be made from the same type of wood or have the same type of finish. In addition, the drawers or other decorative accents should be matching so that they are not fighting against one another. If you do use tables that do not match, keep the lamps that are on them the same or the room will look just too scattered and confusing.
